Air transport in Colombia<\/strong> continues to solidify its role as a strategic driver of tourism, commerce, and national connectivity. During the first nine months of 2025, the country moved 42.4 million passengers through all its airports, recording a growth of 1.7% compared to the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growth Driven by International Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The positive performance of the sector is primarily explained by the strong momentum of international routes, which reached a cumulative growth of 7.0% between January and September. This increase has been particularly relevant for flows to Lima, Quito, Buenos Aires, Guayaquil, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Curacao, Paris, and Barcelona. These destinations reinforce Colombia’s image as a regional and international hub and a benchmark for air connectivity in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This performance demonstrates the sustained recovery of the air sector following the challenges of previous years, while also highlighting the confidence that foreign airlines place in the country’s airport infrastructure and operational stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same period, between January and September 2025, cargo and mail transport reached 709,382 tons, representing an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this growth, the 4% increase in domestic cargo stands out, an indicator that demonstrates the strengthening of the internal market and the confidence of logistics companies in the Colombian environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the international cargo airlines contributing to this performance are Atlas Air, Copa, United Parcel Service (UPS), FedEx, DHL, Ethiopian, Emirates, and Amerijet, companies that maintain active and robust operations in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These results reaffirm the structural strength of the Colombian air sector, supported by cooperation between airlines, airport operators, and national authorities.
