The accident occurred around 5:15 p.m. local time, as the aircraft was beginning its flight to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accident Details: In-Flight Fire and Explosion on Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft, operating as UPS Flight 2976, took off with a visible fire on one of its wings. Footage captured by WLKY, a CBS affiliate, shows the plane turning into a massive fireball upon impact with the ground. The fire spread to several buildings in an industrial area near the runway, generating a dense column of black smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to data from Flightradar24, the aircraft reached an altitude of 175 feet and a speed of 184 knots before beginning an abrupt descent. This disruption is expected to affect deliveries for major clients such as Amazon, Walmart, and the U.S. Postal Service.
