Copa Airlines<\/strong> announced a significant increase in its operations between Panama City and David<\/strong>, raising the available seat capacity on this route by nearly 40%. This decision responds to sustained demand growth and aims to strengthen the country’s air connectivity, particularly in the western region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Frequencies, More Opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airline will now operate up to 3 daily flights on weekdays and up to 4 daily flights on weekends, reaching an average of 23 weekly frequencies. This adjustment represents a substantial increase compared to November 2024 and aims to facilitate travel for tourism, business, and family visits, in addition to boosting commercial exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diego Berm\u00fadez, Sales Director of Copa Airlines, highlighted that “David is a key point within our domestic network and for the country’s air connectivity. With this increase in frequencies, we strengthen its access to the growing route network that Copa Airlines offers across the continent through the Hub of the Americas.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Impact on Passenger and Cargo Traffic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By the end of 2025, Copa Airlines estimates it will transport nearly 230,000 passengers on this route, reflecting its relevance for the touristic and economic development of Chiriqu\u00ed. This flow of travelers generates a positive impact on sectors such as hospitality, commerce, and services linked to air transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the increase in operations has boosted cargo transport. So far this year, more than 151 tons have been transported, primarily agricultural and fishery products destined for international markets such as Los Angeles, Miami, Shanghai, Osaka, Seoul, Dubai, San Jose, and Aruba. Steady growth has also been recorded in flower imports from Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Colombia, highlighting the dynamism of the perishable cargo segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Integration into the Panama Stopover Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The strengthening of connectivity from David opens new possibilities for integrating the province into the Panama Stopover program, a joint initiative between Copa Airlines, the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), and PROMTUR Panama. This program aims to diversify the country’s tourist offerings through alliances with hotels, restaurants, and local operators, attracting international visitors and promoting domestic tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continental Connectivity from the Hub of the Americas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With more than 85 destinations in 32 countries, Copa Airlines continues to consolidate its role as a facilitator of tourism, commerce, and economic development in the Americas.
