Air China Cargo<\/strong> has signed a purchase agreement for six Airbus A350F <\/strong>units, becoming the first mainland Chinese customer to acquire the European manufacturer’s new freighter model. This step marks a strategic milestone for the airline, which aims to strengthen its long-term operations with state-of-the-art technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wang Hongyan, Vice President of Air China Cargo, emphasized that “the incorporation of the A350F into our mixed freighter fleet contributes to operational and maintenance efficiency. This aircraft will enhance our ability to manage risks and ensure stable operations over time.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Technological Leap in Cargo Transport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The A350F has been designed to meet the demands of the global air cargo market, including express shipments, general cargo, and special goods. With the capacity to transport up to 111 tonnes over a range of 8,700 kilometers, this model positions itself as the most advanced in its category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the A350F offers a reduction of up to 40% in fuel consumption and CO\u2082 emissions compared to previous generation aircraft. Furthermore, it is constructed with more than 70% advanced materials, making it 46 tonnes lighter than its competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commitment to Sustainability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The A350F is the only freighter that fully complies with the CO\u2082 emissions standards set by ICAO for 2027. At the time of its entry into service, it will be capable of operating with 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with the goal of reaching 100% by 2030. Currently, the assembly of the test aircraft is underway in Toulouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beno\u00eet de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry, Airbus Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales, stated: “We are pleased to welcome Air China Cargo as a new customer for the A350F. This aircraft will bring efficiency, performance, greater capacity, and unprecedented loading flexibility. We are committed to a smooth integration into their operations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global Network and National Leadership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Headquartered in Beijing, Air China Cargo is the only cargo airline in China that carries the national flag. Since June 2025, it has operated cargo aircraft in the north, east, south, and southwest of the country. Its network includes 25 routes to key regions such as Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, complemented by more than 1,500 global land transport routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new order reinforces Air China Cargo’s position as a leader in innovation and sustainability within the air logistics sector, consolidating its role in the international market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
