Emirates<\/strong>, the world’s largest international airline, announced on Monday an order for an additional 65 Boeing 777-9<\/strong> aircraft, valued at US$ 38 billion at list prices. The announcement was made during the opening day of the Dubai Airshow 2025, further consolidating the company’s position as the largest global operator of the 777.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this new acquisition, Emirates’ total order with Boeing rises to 315 wide-body aircraft, distributed as 270 777X models, 10 777 freighters, and 35 787 Dreamliners. In parallel, the agreement with GE Aerospace expands to 540 GE9X engines, including the 130 confirmed on this occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support for the Development of the Boeing 777-10<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new contract also includes options to convert the current 777-9 order to the 777-10 or 777-8 models, supporting Boeing’s feasibility study to develop a higher-capacity version within the 777X family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, stated: “This is a long-term commitment and a testament to our partnership with Boeing and GE, and with the US aerospace industry.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further emphasized that each aircraft has been carefully integrated into Emirates’ expansion plan, aligned with Dubai’s growth objectives. The airline expects to receive its first 777-9 in the second quarter of 2027, equipped with innovative and state-of-the-art cabin products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Modern Fleet for Global Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates has operated every model in the Boeing 777 family throughout its 40-year history. Its current fleet includes 119 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 Boeing 777-200LRs, and 11 777 freighters, connecting Dubai with over 140 destinations across six continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are deeply honored that Emirates has once again chosen the Boeing 777X to power its future. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our collaboration for the decades to come.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With deliveries scheduled until 2038, Emirates reaffirms its long-term vision and its commitment to a young, efficient, and technologically advanced fleet, prepared to meet the growth in global air traffic and the operational constraints at future airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
