Ethiopian Airlines<\/strong>, the largest airline on the African continent, has signed an agreement to acquire 11 additional Boeing 737-8 <\/strong>aircraft. The announcement was made during the Dubai Airshow, solidifying the partnership between the two companies and strengthening the airline’s operational hub in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement: “We are delighted to announce our agreement with Boeing for 11 additional 737-8 aircraft during the Dubai Airshow. This order supports our growth plans laid out as part of our vision and strategy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition of these new aircraft will enable the airline to expand its routes in Africa, the Middle East, India, and Southern Europe, where operational efficiency and flight frequency are key to meeting passenger demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brad McMullen, Boeing’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing, highlighted the importance of this partnership: “Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to expanding its 737 MAX fleet underscores its leadership in Africa. This new agreement also reinforces our nearly 80-year partnership with the airline and the region.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 737 MAX fleet is distinguished by its reliability, efficiency, and range, characteristics that Ethiopian Airlines leverages to optimize its operations in demanding markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethiopian Airlines not only operates the largest fleet of Boeing aircraft in Africa but also holds the highest number of pending orders on the continent for the 737 MAX, 777X, and 787 Dreamliner models. This position reaffirms its role as a benchmark in African aviation and its commitment to continuous modernization and expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
