Iberia<\/strong> has announced the launch of a new direct route between Madrid and Toronto<\/strong>, as part of its ambitious Flight Plan 2030. Starting June 13, 2026, the Spanish airline will offer five weekly frequencies between the two cities, solidifying its leadership in connectivity between Europe and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this addition, Toronto becomes the 145th destination in Iberia’s network, a milestone that reinforces its transatlantic expansion strategy. The company will offer a total of 37,000 seats during the summer season on this route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus A321XLR: Efficiency and Comfort on Transatlantic Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new connection will be operated with the Airbus A321XLR, the newest model in Iberia’s long-haul fleet. This single-aisle aircraft allows it to cover transatlantic routes with remarkable efficiency, achieving fuel savings of up to 40% compared to wide-body aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A321XLR is equipped with the Airspace cabin, which features larger overhead compartments, LED lighting, and a greater sense of spaciousness. Iberia was the launch customer for this model and, since November 14 of last year, became the first airline in the world to operate it on long-haul flights, starting with the route to Boston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
