Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas <\/strong>has launched the first investment plan in its history to be financed with its own resources. The program aims to renew its fleet, enhance the onboard experience, and strengthen its position in domestic and international routes. The initiative includes the arrival of 18 aircraft and a disbursement of over 65 million dollars dedicated to seats and connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Strategic Bet for Long-Haul<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The central pillar of the project is the incorporation of four Airbus A330neos. This model offers proven reliability on long-distance flights and reduces fuel consumption per seat by around 25 percent compared to previous variants. Furthermore, it reduces CO\u2082 emissions, increases range, and improves comfort. The transition will be straightforward for internal teams, as it shares simulators, training, and spare parts with the A330ceos already operated by the company. Each unit can carry approximately 300 passengers depending on its configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan also includes the modernization of the cabin interiors of the current A330ceos. With this update, the wide-body segment will be aligned in terms of technology, efficiency, and service quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growth in the Single-Aisle Segment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For regional and domestic flights, Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas will add 14 Boeing 737 MAXs: two MAX 8s, four MAX 9s, and eight MAX 10s. The MAX family has already demonstrated solid performance in global operations and within the company, which currently has 15 MAX 8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MAX 9 consumes 11 percent less fuel per flight than the 737-800 and 17% per seat, with an approximate capacity of 190 passengers. The MAX 10 achieves a 7 percent reduction per operation and 19 percent per seat, and can transport approximately 210 passengers. Both models maintain operational and maintenance compatibility with the MAX 8s, which simplifies their adoption and improves efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These 14 aircraft will be incorporated through operating leases, providing flexibility without compromising financial solidity and allowing for capacity increases in short timeframes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Company Projecting Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“With this milestone, Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas confirms that it has transformed into a company with investment capacity and long-term projection using its own resources. We will grow in total seat offering and we will consolidate a modern, efficient, and highly profitable fleet,” stated Fabi\u00e1n Lombardo, President and CEO. He added that the commitment for these 18 units represents a capitalization that reinforces the company’s presence in local and international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan also includes the installation of Wi-Fi across the entire fleet. The first phase will cover the A330s and will later be extended to the Boeing 737s and Embraer 190s. The service will begin in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Results Marking a Change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The year 2025 will be the first without contributions from the National Treasury since the state regained controlling shareholding. Between 2008 and 2023, the firm accumulated average losses of 400 million dollars per year. In 2024, it achieved its first positive EBIT of 56.6 million, validated by KPMG. For 2025, the projection is to double that result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current Fleet of Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today the company operates 83 aircraft: 10 Airbus A330-200s, 15 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, 28 Boeing 737-800s, 4 Boeing 737-700s, 24 Embraer E190s, and 2 Boeing 737-800 freighters. This figure includes the imminent arrival of an additional MAX 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this program, Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas is moving towards a more efficient, sustainable, and profitability-oriented structure, with a reinforced offering in all the segments where it operates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
