Volotea<\/strong> will expand its presence at Seve Ballesteros\u2013Santander Airport <\/strong>with two new domestic routes: M\u00e1laga and Valencia<\/strong>. Both connections are already on sale and will begin operating on March 31, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea\u2019s Chief Strategy Officer, the objective is to strengthen direct connectivity between medium-sized and small cities, bring more national destinations closer to the people of Cantabria, and, at the same time, attract travelers to the region for its cultural, gastronomic, and scenic richness. The message is clear: growth with a territorial focus and operational continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequencies and Capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Santander\u2013M\u00e1laga route will have three weekly frequencies in summer (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) and two in winter (Tuesdays and Saturdays), with an approximate offering of 40,000 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Santander\u2013Valencia will operate year-round with two weekly flights (Tuesdays and Fridays) and around 28,000 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These figures not only reflect growth; they show capacity planning aligned with seasonality and distinct travel profiles: leisure and family visits along the north\u2013south axis, and stable urban connectivity towards the Levante region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Network That Now Reaches Five Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With these additions, Volotea will reach five routes from Santander: M\u00e1laga, Valencia, Sevilla, Granada, and Menorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menorca will operate during the summer season, from May 30 to early October, with over 12,000 seats across nearly 80 flights and two weekly frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sevilla and Granada will each maintain two flights per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirteen Years of Operation and a Historic High<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Volotea has been present in Cantabria since 2012. By the end of 2025, the airline had transported almost 450,000 passengers from Santander. Looking ahead to 2026, the company expects to offer close to 160,000 seats, representing the largest offering since the start of its operations in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
