Willie Walsh, Director General of IATA, described these claims as an inappropriate &#8220;scare tactic&#8221; intended to justify cost increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Clash of Visions on Safety and Economics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the aviation industry, safety is the absolute priority\u2014a principle that, according to IATA, AENA\u2019s Chairman appears to misinterpret by linking it directly to the level of airport fees. This framework should align with the principles of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to balance the interests of all stakeholders: airports, airlines, and passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IATA concludes that the path to strengthening Spain\u2019s aviation sector in the long term is through productive dialogue and collaboration, rather than resorting to
