Under the motto &#8220;Made by many. Remembered by all,&#8221; the airline seeks to pay tribute to the individuals who have shaped the company throughout its 100-year history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Design with Employee DNA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lufthansa Airlines CEO, Jens Ritter, emphasized that every employee\u2014whether in the air or on the ground\u2014defines the airline&#8217;s identity. To reflect this, the company invited all Lufthansa Group personnel to submit anecdotes and proposals via the corporate intranet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the proposals received, a jury selected the top 20, which were then put to a vote among the staff. Ultimately, twelve motifs were chosen to adorn the aircraft, which has been christened &#8220;Hamm.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stories of Yesterday and Today: From Historic Milestones to Personal Moments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection of images covering the fuselage of the Airbus A321neo (registration D-AEIM) is diverse and spans multiple facets of the company&#8217;s history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Historic Milestones:<\/strong> Includes the first scheduled inter-German flight following the country&#8217;s division, operated between Frankfurt am Main and Leipzig in 1989.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal Stories:<\/strong> Highlights the account of two cabin crew members who met while skiing during a layover in Vancouver; their drawing in the mountains is now part of the design.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Corporate Identity:<\/strong> A design from Lufthansa Technik shows two interlocking hands, symbolizing the team spirit that prevails throughout the organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aviation Pioneers:<\/strong> Historic images have been integrated, such as those of the airline&#8217;s first two female pilots, Nicola Lisy and Evi Hetzmannseder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2026\/03\/lufthansa-and-munich-airport-extend-partnership-terminal-2-expansion-planned-with-new-t-pier.html\">Lufthansa and Munich Airport Extend Partnership: Terminal 2 Expansion Planned with New \u201cT-Pier\u201d<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovation and Connectivity in the Livery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The design is visually integrated into the well-known &#8220;XXL Crane&#8221; logo, which spans the entire aircraft. In addition to the initial twelve motifs, more employee stories will be added progressively throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A relevant technological feature is the inclusion of a QR code next to each image on the aircraft. By scanning it, passengers and aviation enthusiasts can access a landing page with detailed information and the background story of each selected motif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expansion of the 100th Anniversary Fleet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This Airbus A321neo is not the only aircraft sporting the centenary colors. Currently, the airline already operates a commemorative fleet that includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two Airbus A320neos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Airbus A350-900.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Airbus A380.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Boeing 747-8.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Boeing 787-9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By autumn 2026, the Airbus A350-1000 is expected to join as
