This new route is set to bolster connectivity between the Gipuzkoa region and the European market starting this coming September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategic Expansion at San Sebasti\u00e1n Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning <strong>September 21<\/strong>, the airline will initiate operations between San Sebasti\u00e1n and Florence. The flight schedule is strategically designed to capture both outbound leisure traffic and inbound tourism to Northern Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Operational Details and Frequencies<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The flight programming for this route will be divided into two phases during the current year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>September and October:<\/strong> Two weekly frequencies, operating on <strong>Mondays and Thursdays<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>From November Onward:<\/strong> Two weekly frequencies, shifting to <strong>Mondays and Fridays<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2026\/04\/volotea-and-ita-airways-strengthen-strategic-alliance-with-new-codeshare-agreement.html\">Volotea and ITA Airways Strengthen Strategic Alliance with New Codeshare Agreement<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, the airline has scheduled <strong>58 flights<\/strong> for the remainder of the year, representing a capacity of nearly <strong>9,000 seats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Volotea\u2019s Consolidation in the Basque Country<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the addition of Florence, Volotea expands its network to five routes from <strong>Hondarribia Airport<\/strong>. The Italian city joins the airline&#8217;s existing domestic destination portfolio:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Palma de Mallorca<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Menorca<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M\u00e1laga<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seville<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Florence (International)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Since launching operations in San Sebasti\u00e1n in June 2021, the carrier has transported approximately <strong>342,000 passengers<\/strong>. This growth is supported by a robust <strong>96% customer recommendation rate<\/strong> within the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This connection provides an opportunity to offer affordable travel to
