Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)<\/strong> has announced the largest investment in the company’s history with the acquisition of up to 40 Airbus widebody aircraft. This strategic move represents a significant step in its long-term ambition to strengthen global connectivity between Scandinavia and major international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategic acquisition combines the introduction of the new, fuel-efficient Airbus A330-900neo with additional Airbus A330-300 units, which have been secured to support short-term growth ahead of the new fleet’s delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a total list value exceeding $10 billion, this deal stands as the highest-value aircraft order ever placed by SAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This historic transaction builds on the record order announced last year for 55 Embraer E195-E2 regional aircraft. Alongside the ongoing renewal of its single-aisle Airbus A320neo fleet, these investments represent the most significant fleet modernization for SAS in decades, delivering substantial improvements in fuel efficiency, acoustic performance, and passenger experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report highlights the economic benefits derived from the airline’s planned increase in international access for Denmark, the \u00d6resund region, and Scandinavia as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
