This strategic move marks the formal introduction of its upgraded cabin products and inflight passenger experience into the Canadian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accompanying this operational milestone, the airline outlined its expansion plan for the Winter 2026\u20132027 season, driven by the following key pillars:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Launch of direct Mumbai\u2013Toronto service.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Total capacity enhancement:<\/strong> An additional 4,400 seats per month between India and Canada.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expanded premium offering:<\/strong> A 71% increase in premium seat availability to Toronto.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fleet standardization:<\/strong> 100% modernization or replacement of the inflight product on Toronto routes effective January 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2026\/07\/air-india-selects-new-york-jfks-terminal-6-for-operations-starting-in-2028.html\">Air India Selects New York JFK\u2019s Terminal 6 for Operations Starting in 2028<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Direct Seasonal Service: Mumbai \u2013 Toronto<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Between October 25, 2026, and March 26, 2027, the carrier will operate a seasonal, three-weekly non-stop service connecting Mumbai and Toronto. This operation will add approximately 2,000 additional weekly seats, establishing Air India as the sole carrier offering direct flights between the two cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route will be operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fitted with fully refurbished interiors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>First Class:<\/strong> 8 luxury suites featuring sliding privacy doors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Business Class:<\/strong> 40 lie-flat seats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Economy Class:<\/strong> 280 seats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Connectivity:<\/strong> Inflight Wi-Fi enabled across the retrofitted B777-300ER fleet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delhi Hub Operations and Fleet Transition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Delhi\u2013Toronto route, Air India will operate 10 weekly frequencies during the winter season. Initially, 7 of these flights will be operated with the newly delivered B787-9s, while the remaining 3 will temporarily continue using upgraded B777-300ERs. Beginning in January 2027, all 10 weekly flights will transition exclusively to the B787-9 as additional aircraft join the fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this schedule, 100% of flights to and from Toronto will feature brand-new or fully retrofitted cabin interiors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Canada is one of the most important international markets for Air India, driven by deep personal and community ties that generate robust travel demand, particularly during the festive and holiday seasons.
