The recognition celebrates the quality of the wine selection available in the premium cabins of its member airlines and reflects the solid collective performance of its operators in the technical tasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the alliance&#8217;s members, Korean Air stood out by securing first place in the Top International Business-Class Wines on the Wing category. Additionally, the South Korean carrier achieved runner-up positions for both its international First Class wine portfolio and its international Business Class white wine selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notable Mentions for Americas-Based Operators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The performance of the alliance&#8217;s American carriers decisively contributed to the group&#8217;s average score:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Delta Air Lines:<\/strong> Secured runner-up status and received honorable mentions across various evaluated categories in international and North American premium cabins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aeromexico:<\/strong> Similarly earned runner-up distinctions and honorable mentions for its wine offerings in premium services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tasting Methodology and Collective Award<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wines on the Wing competition marked its 20th anniversary of tastings evaluating wines served aboard premium cabins. For the 2026 competition, participating airlines submitted samples of white, red, and sparkling wines, which underwent a blind tasting held in New York City in May 2026. The evaluation panel consisted of winemakers, sommeliers, specialty wine shop owners, and wine industry executives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Top Alliance Wines on the Wing award, which is marking 12 years of recognizing the overall performance of airline alliances, is determined directly by Global Traveler by computing and averaging the total scores achieved by the participating carriers of each group.
