The carrier will replace two Airbus A220-300 aircraft with two Airbus A320neos, aiming to boost seat capacity on its highest-density routes and consolidate its footprint in Switzerland&#8217;s French-speaking region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fleet Adjustment and Increased Operational Capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The equipment swap represents a direct increase in the number of seats available per frequency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Airbus A220-300:<\/strong> Previously configured with 145 seats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Airbus A320neo:<\/strong> Provides a capacity of 180 seats, yielding an additional 35 seats per flight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This inventory optimization will enable SWISS to absorb sustained demand across key corporate and leisure routes without requiring additional airport slots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategic Focus on the Geneva\u2013London Heathrow Route<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The two incoming Airbus A320neos will be primarily deployed on the route connecting Geneva with London Heathrow Airport, one of the highest-traffic and most commercially vital links in the airline&#8217;s western Swiss network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this deployment, SWISS aims to maximize route profitability while expanding seat supply for corporate travelers and global connecting passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This sends a strong signal for our Geneva base,&#8221; said Jens Fehlinger, CEO of SWISS. &#8220;We want to secure our position in Geneva for the long term and continue to strengthen it through targeted measures. An attractive, demand-oriented, and profitable route network plays a decisive role in achieving this goal.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SWISS will finalize the operational details of its summer 2027 schedule
