Furthermore, it allows us to finance the addition of Embraer aircraft through this structure for the first time, maintaining our access to competitive long-term terms in international markets,&#8221; explained Andr\u00e9s del Valle, Vice President of Corporate Finance at LATAM Airlines Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial Mechanism and Sustainability Incentives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The credit facility features an interest rate adjustment scheme tied to the airline&#8217;s environmental performance. Under this mechanism, as the group reduces its emission intensity\u2014measured as carbon dioxide output per passenger-kilometer or cargo unit\u2014it will receive margin discounts on the loan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These key performance indicators align directly with the group\u2019s corporate sustainability targets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2030 Interim Target:<\/strong> A 6% reduction in emission intensity compared to the 2019 baseline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2050 Long-Term Target:<\/strong> Achieving net-zero carbon emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This transaction represents the second sustainable financing instrument executed by LATAM. In December 2024, the carrier signed its first Sustainability-Linked Loan, a US$ 300 million revolving credit facility backed by spare engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fleet Outlook: 2026 and the Path to 2030<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement underpins the accelerated fleet renewal plan budgeted for 2026. After integrating 13 next-generation aircraft during the first half of the year, the airline expects to take delivery of 28 additional units before year-end, exceeding an annual integration rate of 40 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these deliveries, LATAM projects ending 2026 with an active fleet exceeding 410 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Operational Milestones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Brazilian Domestic Network:<\/strong> Debut of the Embraer E195-E2 to optimize high-density regional routes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2027 Entry into Service:<\/strong> Delivery of the first Airbus A321XLR, introducing extended-range capabilities across the group&#8217;s international network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2030 Outlook:<\/strong> Scheduled integration of up to 130 additional aircraft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With these additions, more than 50% of LATAM&#8217;s total fleet will consist of latest-technology aircraft by the end of the decade.
