Following the temporary suspension of air services caused by the earthquakes on June 24, Copa Airlines <\/strong>announced Thursday the reactivation of its operations to and from the Venezuelan capital. Service will resume with a daily flight connecting Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar International Airport in Maiquet\u00eda<\/strong>\u2014serving Caracas\u2014with Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Caracas returning to its active route network, the airline will reach a total of 29 weekly frequencies between Panama and Venezuela in September. This allows Copa Airlines to restore operations to all authorized destinations in Venezuelan territory, serving airports in Caracas, Maracaibo, Valencia, Barquisimeto, and Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restoring this route marks a crucial step toward recovering international air traffic in Venezuela’s central region. Roberto Pulido, General Manager for Copa Airlines in Venezuela, highlighted the historical and commercial significance of the market:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are delighted to bring Maiquet\u00eda Airport back into our route network. Caracas is a destination we have operated for nearly 29 years, and prior to the earthquakes, we served it with three daily flights. Reintroducing a daily frequency to and from Caracas is highly significant, once again providing international connectivity to passengers in the capital and surrounding areas.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While full operational and logistical recovery progresses at Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar International Airport, Copa Airlines will concurrently maintain two daily flights to and from Valencia.
