In addition to the aircraft, this amount includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An <strong>$8.6 billion contract<\/strong> allocated for the procurement of 21 spare engines from manufacturers GE Aerospace and CFM International.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>15-year engine maintenance agreement<\/strong> that will cover 28 aircraft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expansion Following the Integration of Asiana Airlines and Operational Efficiency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The South Korean carrier indicated that this investment will support the long-term expansion of its fleet following the integration of Asiana Airlines, while facilitating the transition toward next-generation models with higher fuel efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Korean Air CEO Cho Won-tae previously pointed out that the new aircraft will allow the company to expand its destination network toward the United States and Latin America.
