The executive underscored that the new intercontinental routes represent the first step in a comprehensive development and investment plan shared with Lufthansa Group to bolster the airline\u2019s network and competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winter 2026\/2027 Route Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Winter 2026\/2027 season, the carrier will operate a network of 55 destinations, comprising:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>16 domestic routes within Italy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>21 international routes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>18 intercontinental routes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2026\/07\/ita-airways-launches-service-allowing-dogs-up-to-30-kg-in-passenger-cabin-on-domestic-flights.html\">ITA Airways Launches Service Allowing Dogs Up to 30 kg in Passenger Cabin on Domestic Flights<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connectivity to the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Santo Domingo:<\/strong> On November 30, 2026, ITA Airways will launch a new nonstop service from Rome Fiumicino to Santo Domingo. The route will be operated with Airbus A330neo aircraft, flying once weekly on Mondays and adding a second weekly frequency on Sundays between December 14 and April 5, 2027.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mauritius:<\/strong> The airline will increase frequencies from two to three weekly flights between October 25 and April 5, 2027, to meet leisure travel demand, particularly from the Italian outbound market.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Male (Maldives):<\/strong> Flights have been confirmed starting December 16, 2026, operating continuously through April 5, 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer 2027 Outlook: Launch of Caracas and Verona Expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead to the Summer 2027 schedule, the airline will strengthen its long-haul presence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>New Intercontinental Route: Rome Fiumicino \u2013 Caracas:<\/strong> Effective March 30, 2027, ITA Airways will inaugurate nonstop flights connecting Rome and Caracas with three weekly services (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays). The route, operated with Airbus A330-900 equipment, aims to reinforce the carrier\u2019s strategic footprint across South America and strengthen ties between Italy and the continent. Tickets are already available for purchase across all sales channels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domestic Network Expansion:<\/strong> Starting March 28, 2027, the airline will add a service connecting Rome Fiumicino and Verona with 21 weekly flights, enhancing connectivity for the region\u2019s tourism and industrial sectors into its core hub-and-spoke network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alliances and Integration with Lufthansa Group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The carrier\u2019s presence at the Rimini travel trade show also reaffirms the advancement of commercial and corporate synergies with Lufthansa Group. Through existing codeshare agreements with Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Air Dolomiti, customers now have access to more than 150 combined destinations across European and intercontinental markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, ITA Airways\u2019 entry into Star Alliance in 2026 has expanded passenger benefits and solidified Rome Fiumicino Airport\u2019s standing as an
