The long-term services agreement also encompasses the development of an advanced Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agreement Scope: Comprehensive Coverage for Turkish Airlines and AJet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The framework agreement, formally signed during an official ceremony in Istanbul, establishes a long-term services structure covering the airline group&#8217;s entire LEAP-1B engine fleet. Key coverage elements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Engine Portfolio:<\/strong> Previously ordered and delivered engines, spare engines, leased aircraft powerplants, and potential options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fleet Volume:<\/strong> More than 600 LEAP-1B engines in service and on order across Turkish Airlines and its subsidiary division AJet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New Fleet Integration:<\/strong> Represents a new chapter in inducting recently ordered Boeing 737 MAX aircraft into the carrier&#8217;s expanding fleet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boosting MRO Capabilities: New Facility in Turkey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond powerplant support, the agreement includes a material services package designed to support the establishment of a new engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Turkey. This infrastructure will enable Turkish Technic to provide comprehensive support capabilities for the LEAP engine family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2026\/09\/turkish-airlines-and-air-china-expand-codeshare-agreement.html\">Turkish Airlines and Air China Expand Codeshare Agreement<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials from both organizations underscored the project&#8217;s operational significance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This new step with CFM will support our growing fleet, route network, and operational efficiency. Furthermore, we are pleased to strengthen our partnership with CFM through a comprehensive suite of services, bringing the expertise, reliability, and long-term support required to develop our MRO capabilities for the LEAP engine alongside a long-standing partner.&#8221;<br><strong>\u2014 Prof. Murat Seker, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OEM Backing and an Open MRO Ecosystem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The alliance reinforces commercial and industrial ties forged over nearly four decades between the Turkish carrier and CFM&#8217;s parent companies, Safran and GE Aerospace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Olivier Andries, CEO of Safran, emphasized the value of the collaborative framework:<\/strong> &#8220;This MoU marks a new milestone in our successful relationship with Turkish Airlines, a trusted partner for nearly four decades. It reflects our shared ambition to support the airline&#8217;s continuous growth and fleet expansion. The agreement demonstrates our commitment to an open MRO ecosystem, which provides airlines with flexibility and competitive services to enhance operational performance and manage costs effectively.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>H. seriously.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fleet Overview and LEAP Technical Performance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new agreement builds on an established operational baseline between the carrier and the engine manufacturer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Current Narrowbody Fleet:<\/strong> Turkish Airlines currently operates 96 CFM56-7B-powered Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft, alongside 79 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft powered by LEAP-1B engines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LEAP Program Maturity:<\/strong> In its first 10 years of commercial service, CFM has delivered more than 10,000 engines, collectively accumulating over 100 million flight hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Continuous Reliability Upgrades:<\/strong> The OEM continues to upgrade the LEAP fleet with a High-Pressure Turbine (HPT) durability kit designed to extend time-on-wing (TOW), as well as a Reverse Bleed System (RBS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategic agreement between Turkish
