American Airlines<\/strong> announced on Friday the launch of a new nonstop route connecting Miami and Barcelona<\/strong>, in Venezuela’s Anzo\u00e1tegui state, starting January 15, 2027. This marks the first time the eastern Venezuelan city will have direct service to the carrier’s hub at Miami International Airport. The new operation complements American’s existing services to Caracas and Maracaibo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, the carrier became the first U.S. airline to resume scheduled flights to Venezuela since 2019. In the wake of the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuelan territory, the airline also operated a humanitarian relief flight to Caracas, airlifting over 9,000 pounds of essential supplies to affected communities. Following the reopening of Caracas to international operations, American was likewise the first U.S. carrier to restore daily service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequencies, Flight Schedules, and Aircraft<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Miami\u2013Barcelona route will operate three times weekly, with flights scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Services will be operated using Embraer E175 aircraft, configured with a dual-class cabin\u2014including a premium cabin\u2014and passenger experience amenities such as onboard Wi-Fi connectivity and in-seat power outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
