With this addition, WSI will become the carrier\u2019s seventh gateway in Australia, complementing its existing operations to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hamad Al Khater, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the agreement for bilateral ties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our launch at Western Sydney International Airport represents the next chapter in our longstanding partnership with Australia, one of our key markets. The new route will directly link Western Sydney with Doha and, via DOH, connect passengers to more than 170 destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and beyond\u2014strengthening existing ties and unlocking new opportunities for trade, tourism, and investment between Australia, Qatar, and the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al Khater added that the terminal\u2019s 24\/7 curfew-free operational capacity will help funnel more international visitors into New South Wales, provide a premium travel experience through a second Sydney gateway, and offer local exporters direct belly-hold cargo access to Gulf markets and neighboring regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2026\/09\/qatar-airways-phases-out-airbus-a330-fleet-and-secondes-pilots-to-rwandair-amid-iran-conflict-impact.html\">Qatar Airways Phases Out Airbus A330 Fleet and Secondes Pilots to RwandAir Amid Iran Conflict Impact<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flight Schedules and Itineraries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Effective December 15, 2027, the flight schedule between Doha and WSI will operate as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Doha \u2013 Western Sydney<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Frequencies:<\/strong> Monday, Wednesday, Friday<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Departure:<\/strong> 01:40<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arrival:<\/strong> 23:45<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Western Sydney \u2013 Doha<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Frequencies:<\/strong> Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Departure:<\/strong> 16:10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arrival:<\/strong> 23:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fleet, Cabin Configuration, and In-Flight Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The route will launch with three weekly frequencies, with the airline stating its intention to scale up service progressively toward a daily flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The service will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a 354-seat, two-class configuration:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>42 Business Class suites, featuring the Qsuite product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>312 Economy Class seats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Onboard connectivity will feature complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi for all passengers. Qatar Airways operates the world\u2019s first and largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, having pioneered the deployment of this technology across long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes across six continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, this new service will bolster expansion plans under the strategic partnership between Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia, expanding route network connectivity
