The narrowbody will showcase these representative stories on routes across Europe through the end of 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Twelve Personal Stories Framed Around the Iconic XXL Crane<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the motto &#8220;Made by many. Remembered by all,&#8221; the commemorative livery was finalized in stages throughout the German flag carrier\u2019s anniversary year. The selection process began with an internal call for entries, during which a jury shortlisted 20 proposals from among numerous employee submissions. The entire workforce then cast their votes to select the twelve final designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning concepts are displayed in passe-partout-style frames positioned around the distinctive oversized XXL crane design on the fuselage. Alongside individual anecdotes, the aircraft features historical imagery and milestones, including a photograph of Nicola Lisy and Evi Hetzmannseder, Lufthansa\u2019s first two female pilots. It honors a special mission flown on March 19, 2020, during the height of the global health crisis, operating between Frankfurt and Bogota to repatriate stranded travelers, many of whom had waited seven days at the airport terminal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Toward a United Germany:<\/strong> Created by an employee who helped establish Lufthansa\u2019s first sales offices in Dresden in June 1990 and witnessed reunification in Berlin on October 3. The artwork portrays people walking hand in hand toward a new future in front of the Brandenburg Gate, symbolizing the tickets issued as a tangible expression of freedom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operational Deployment and the Centennial Special Fleet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Airbus A321neo, registered as D-AIEM, will retain this special scheme across its scheduled commercial operations throughout Europe until the end of 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This aircraft is part of a broader global commemorative rollout. Currently, the centennial XXL crane livery is featured worldwide on six of the carrier\u2019s aircraft:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two Airbus A320neos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Airbus A350-900<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Airbus A380<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Boeing 747-8<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Boeing 787-9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The anniversary fleet will welcome its seventh member in November,
