Aircraft leasing company Avolon<\/strong> and US airframer Boeing<\/strong> have formalized an order for 140 Boeing 737-10<\/strong> aircraft, setting a record order for this variant by a lessor. With this agreement, the lessor’s firm order backlog surpasses 240 units, positioning it to meet the growing demand for high-capacity narrowbodies over the coming decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Momentum for the 737-10 in the Aircraft Leasing Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So far in 2026, aircraft leasing companies have placed firm orders for more than 230 737-10 aircraft\u2014five times the cumulative backlog held by lessors for the largest 737 MAX variant at the close of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding the 737-10 allows Avolon to capture market demand for larger-gauge single-aisle aircraft while leveraging the operational versatility of the 737 family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Cronin, Chief Executive Officer of Avolon, highlighted the economic and operational value of the deal for their airline customers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
