{"id":99217,"date":"2020-08-28T12:02:45","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T12:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=99217"},"modified":"2024-03-14T22:54:03","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T22:54:03","slug":"avianca-will-resume-domestic-flights-in-colombia-from-september-1st","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2020\/08\/avianca-will-resume-domestic-flights-in-colombia-from-september-1st.html","title":{"rendered":"Avianca will resume domestic flights in Colombia from September 1st."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The airline <strong>Avianca<\/strong> announced this Thursday the resumption of its flights in Colombia starting next September 1st after a five-month paralysis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This Tuesday, September 1st, Avianca will return to the skies of Colombia connecting from Bogot\u00e1 to destinations such as Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, C\u00facuta, Medell\u00edn, Monter\u00eda, Pereira and San Andr\u00e9s,&#8221; the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6613542170464175\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"7885240672\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>That same day, the mandatory quarantine that has been in effect in the country since March 25 will be lifted to try to mitigate the covid-19 pandemic, which has so far left 582,022 infected and 18,468 dead in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The information added that as of September 7 Avianca will also restart operations from Bogot\u00e1 to Pasto, Santa Marta, Villavicencio and from Medell\u00edn to Cali and Cartagena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our commitment is to connect Colombia and that is why the resumption of the air operation is a step forward in the economic recovery of the country. When Avianca flies, not only its clients fly, but also travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, tour operators and merchants in general,&#8221; said the company&#8217;s executive president, Anko van der Werff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Biosafety Protocols<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline &#8220;will apply the strict biosecurity protocols that have already been successfully tested on more than 330 special flights, transporting more than 34,380 people during these months,&#8221; said the company about the humanitarian flights it has operated to different countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avianca recalled that on August 10th it received from the Colombian authorities the seals of Biosecurity Check in and Biosecurity Operations for a better management of the control system of the covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Avianca, on his return from quarantine the national operation will be equivalent to 12% of what it was before the pandemic, but he hopes that the demand will grow in order to expand his destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<!-- ultimo -->\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6613542170464175\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"6526913898\"\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, he hopes that the favorable concept on the viability of international flights, issued by the Ministry of Health, &#8220;will allow the rapid opening of the market to other countries that are high impact destinations for Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Health informed this Thursday, after analyzing the &#8220;epidemiological information that suggests that Colombia is reaching the peak&#8221;
