The Union Association of Airline Flight Attendants (ASSA) informed its union that on Thursday Aeromexico<\/strong> asked for a cut of 1,000 members as part of the adjustment measures to face the economic crisis derived from the COVID-19, which would imply the dismissal of 37% of the flight attendants composed of 2,719 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the information circular sent this Friday, Aeromexico made a “strong proposal” to readjust the workforce by 1,000 Flight Attendants. In addition, once the dismissal has been made, it proposed the continuation of the rotation system at a slower pace than the current one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the airline proposed that the flight attendants review the general conditions of the Collective Labor Agreement, but the union said that at this point there will be no negotiation on this issue until the company’s financial and operational data are clearly known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This Executive Committee will be analyzing and evaluating the proposal in the next few days, we will meet with the company’s management next week. After that, we will convene our Extraordinary General Assembly in a virtual way so that together we take the best definitions for the whole cabin crew guild”, said Ricardo del Valle in the circular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
