The president of the Association of Air Lines in Venezuela (ALAV), Humberto Figuera, assured this Monday that up to now they do not have estimates on the date when the sector could resume operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He assured that this decision does not depend on the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (Inac) but on the country’s health authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Regardless of the biosecurity measures to be applied in order to be able to fly, to enter the airports and to maintain health security in the plane, there is no date yet”, he said to the Union Radio chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Figuera insisted that at this time “the most important thing is health”, so he asked for “patience”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about the date for the resumption of flights by the airline TAP between Portugal and Venezuela, set for December 15, he explained that “these are only estimates” since it could change according to the evolution of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I really hope that before December we will be able to fly, not only domestically, but also internationally, but that is not known yet,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that once air operations are resumed, flights will continue to be safe because the relevant maintenance has been carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
