After a week of reactivating domestic flights under strict biosecurity protocols, Avianca Holdings reported that during the first seven days of operation it mobilized 27,380 passengers in 302 flights, managing to connect from Bogot\u00e1 to destinations such as Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, C\u00facuta, Medell\u00edn, Monter\u00eda, Pasto, Pereira and Santa Marta; and from Medell\u00edn to Cali and Cartagena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our priority is to connect Colombians so that they can reunite with their families, fulfill their work commitments and visit various destinations through tourism that are already active, so that together we can generate a safe air reactivation and thus boost the country’s economy,” said Anko van der Werff, executive president of Avianca Holdings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline reported total normality in its itineraries, which has been possible in great measure thanks to the coordinated work between authorities, airports and airlines, but also to the punctuality of the passengers and, in general, to the coordination throughout the aviation chain, in a context where biosecurity protocols are required that take more time than usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this operation, the company has used 20 aircraft from its fleet, between Airbus 320 and ATR72, and will increase its operation as more flight capacity is authorized in the country. The punctuality indicator of its itineraries was 94.68% during this first week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this period, the company has guaranteed compliance with the strictest biosafety protocols, which are guaranteed by the biosafety seal Check-in Certificate, covid-19 Biosafety, created by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, with the support of ProColombia and Icontec, and the seal ‘Safe Operations’, from Icontec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with the above, Avianca reiterated that its aircraft have HEPA filters, which capture 99.97 percent of airborne microbes.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In addition, the cabin air system delivers approximately 50 percent outside air and 50 percent filtered and recirculated air, which means that the air supplied is essentially sterile,” the company added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
