After more than six months without operations due to the COVID-19, Avianca <\/strong>informed that it is ready to gradually resume its flights from the El Salvador hub next September 19th, once the authorities allow the arrival and departure of international flights to the country. In its initial connectivity plan, the airline expects to reach 9 of the destinations with the highest demand in Central and North America for which it will use a fleet of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, with capacity for 120 and 150 passengers respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our reason for being and our commitment is to connect families, dreams, businesses and contribute to the reactivation of tourism and the economy of the region. We are very close to opening our wings again in Central America and that excites us a lot because when Avianca flies, we all fly. For this stage, we have prepared and implemented strict biosafety protocols that allow us to guarantee our passengers a safer trip,” said David Alem\u00e1n, Avianca’s General Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avianca also informed that the itineraries are subject to changes in origin, date and time due to government restrictions and indicated that other destinations will be added to the route network as air operations become available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers interested in flying can purchase their tickets at Avianca.com or their preferred travel agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An operation under the strictest protocols<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this time, Avianca has been working on bio-security protocols with the highest standards to give the passenger the confidence to fly again. These protocols were successfully implemented on more than 330 special flights in which more than 34,380 people have been transported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
