But the site does not validate the last name, which allows access to other travelers&#8217; refund information by changing the ticket number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/08\/united-airlines-eliminates-charges-for-flight-changes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United Airlines eliminates charges for flight changes.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Computer security expert Oliver Linow, who found the error, told <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/09\/10\/united-website-bug-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">TechCrunch<\/a> he could see travelers&#8217; last names, the type of payment and currency used to purchase the ticket, and the amount of the refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linow said he reported the problem to United on July 6.
