Qatar Airways announced that it has begun the first stage of codeshare cooperation with China Southern Airlines.

The code-share flights will allow passengers of China Southern Airlines to book travel on Qatar Airways’ flights between Guangzhou and Doha, and thereafter to more than 60 destinations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. In the next phase of the code-share agreement, the Chinese airline will also put its code on Qatar Airways flights between Beijing and Doha, once current restrictions on flights into and out of China are lifted.

This code-share agreement is the first step in strengthening cooperation between the two airlines, as Qatar Airways acquired 5% of China Southern Airlines in December 2018.
“We are delighted to begin code-share cooperation with China Southern Airlines, which offers our passengers seamless connectivity through the best airport in the Middle East to over 60 destinations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East,” said Qatar Airways Commercial Director, Thierry Antinori.
