The AirlineRatings website has revealed the safest airlines for 2021 as part of its annual safety ratings.

For 2021, the website gave first place to Australian airline Qantas, followed by Qatar Airways in second place, while Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Emirates complete the top five.
Qantas held the title of the world’s safest airline from 2014 to 2017. In 2018, AirlineRatings indicated that it could not find a clear winner and chose to rank its top 20 equally, but once again in 2019 and 2020 Qantas was crowned the world’s safest airline.

On the other hand, it also highlighted the safest low-cost airlines, listing the top 10 in alphabetical order: Air Arabia, Allegiant, EasyJet, Frontier, Jetstar Group, Jetblue, Ryanair, Vietjet, Westjet and Wizz Air.
AirlineRatings keeps track of 385 airlines worldwide, measuring factors such as airlines’ accident and serious incident records and the age of their aircraft.
