SpiceJet plane makes emergency landing after smoke detected in cabin
A SpiceJet airline plane from Goa made an emergency landing at India’s Hyderabad airport Wednesday night after smoke was observed in the cabin, officials said.
The plane landed safely and passengers were evacuated. A Hyderabad airport official said there were 86 passengers on board the Dash 8-Q400.
Due to the emergency, nine flights were diverted.

Last July 27, the Directorate General of Indian Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered SpiceJet to operate a maximum of 50% of its flights for a period of eight weeks due to a series of incidents.
In September, the DGCA extended the restrictions until October 29.
