Air India will temporarily reduce flight frequency on some U.S. routes due to crew shortages, CEO Campbell Wilson announced Monday.

In total, six weekly flights will be cut, three to Newark and three to San Francisco. This measure will be implemented over the next two to three months, Wilson said.

He also stated that the airline will have 100 pilots available for Boeing 777 aircraft within three months, and that about 1,400 cabin crew are undergoing training.

In recent months, some long-haul flights have been affected by crew shortages.

The airline currently has a workforce of about 11,000.

“There’s a lot going on,” Wilson said, adding that the airline is shrinking and growing at the same time.
