Japan Airlines to introduce its first cargo aircraft in 13 years
Japan Airlines (JAL) reported Tuesday that it has decided to introduce three Boeing 767-300ER Freighters from the end of fiscal 2023. It will be the first time in 13 years that the airline will operate its own freighters.
With the introduction of these aircraft, a new business model will be established to ensure stable and growing demand.

To capture domestic and international e-commerce, parcel and other high-growth cargo, the airline will create alliances with logistics partners and operate routes that ensure stable demand.
“From fiscal 2023, we will start operating international flights mainly to East Asia, and in the future we will operate domestic flights to improve aircraft utilization while maximizing the cargo ratio. In addition, we will respond to customers’ needs by flexibly offering charter and non-scheduled flights,” the airline said in a statement.
