Wingo announced on Thursday a series of changes to its portfolio of additional services and fare families that seek to strengthen the quality of its product in order to further meet the different expectations of its travelers.
“We are aware of the competitive environment in the Colombian air market, that is why Wingo announced a series of improvements that go beyond our network and our punctuality; these new alternatives in our Wingo product will allow us to continue being the low-cost airline with the most robust and relevant operation in Colombia,” said Jorge Jimenez, Wingo’s VP of Commercial and Planning.
As a result, the airline will establish a series of changes that go beyond its route network and are already available.
Three extra kilos for checked baggage
From this moment on, Wingo travelers who purchase checked baggage will be able to enjoy three additional kilos in their suitcase, for a total of 23 kg per piece of baggage. These three kilos will not imply any additional cost and will be, from now on, the maximum weight measurement on all our flights.

This modification came into effect on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 and will apply to all passengers who have purchased the checked baggage service for flights after that date.
The 23 kg checked baggage complements Wingo’s cabin baggage, which at 12 kg is one of the most competitive on the market.
A new member of the tariff family arrives: Go Standard
Wingo’s new fare product, Go Standard, will be offered as an alternative for passengers who only want to include one personal item and one 12 kg cabin bag in their travel experience.
This option is now available on the airline’s website for all 37 routes in its network.
Flexibility in all tariff families
One of the main differentials of the Wingo product is the Flex – 1 option, which allows all passengers to request a change through the airline’s channels without penalty, as long as the change is made 15 days prior to the flight date. This option is available for the following fare families: Go Basic, Go Standard and Go Plus.
For the most complete fare option, the Go Extra, travelers may request unlimited changes to their route, without penalty, thanks to WingoFlex, which allows changes up to 24 hours prior to flight departure.
