Avianca selected the team that will represent the airline in this year’s Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC), the most important maintenance competition in the aviation industry worldwide, which will take place April 9-11 in Chicago, United States.
Through the Avianca Maintenance Masters contest, which took place at the Aeronautical Maintenance Center (MRO) in Rionegro, Antioquia, the group formed by Álvaro Andrés Escalante Posada, José Antonio Oviedo Cárdenas, Camilo Zuleta Llano, Brayan Aguilar and Juan Camilo Mafla was selected among eight finalist teams to compete in this year’s version of the AMC.

“We are very proud of the team that will represent Avianca in this international competition. With this initiative we show the company’s commitment to invest in technology and training of its team and, with the participation in the AMC, we realize that we have the necessary human talent to compete globally,” said Albert Perez, Avianca’s Vice President of Engineering and Maintenance.
The competition, which took place on Wednesday, measured the knowledge, experience, skills, abilities and abilities of the participants in areas such as the handling of tools and equipment, repair, among others.
