Aeromexico to temporarily suspend flights to Quito, Ecuador
Aeromexico announced on Monday that it will suspend its flights between Mexico City and Quito, Ecuador, from July 1 to December 18, 2024.
Ecuadorian media have pointed to diplomatic problems between the two countries as the reason behind the suspension of flights, but the airline did not specify the reasons.

Bilateral relations have been complicated following the arrest in April of former Ecuadorian vice-president Jorge Glas, in a raid by Ecuadorian police and military at the Mexican embassy in Quito where he had been taking refuge since December.
The two nations severed diplomatic relations after the incident, which means that they have since stopped processing visas, passports and other documents in the other country, meaning that those who need to carry out routine consular procedures must do so in neighboring nations.
