Avianca announced on Monday that, after starting to operate direct routes from Medellin to Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima and Aruba, and confirming the sales of two new operations to Guayaquil and Sao Paulo, it continues to strengthen Antioquia’s international connectivity with a new route between Medellin and San Salvador.

The route, which will begin operations on October 28, 2024, will operate one daily flight on Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers, which will represent an offer of more than 2,500 seats per week between the two cities.

Flights will depart Medellín at 03:20, arriving in San Salvador at 05:00 (local time). From San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez Airport, they will take off at 22:10, landing in the capital of the department of Antioquia at 01:55 (local time).

“At Avianca, we are pleased to announce this good news with which we complete 19 new routes launched so far in 2024, seven of them to provide more access and connectivity to Medellin and the entire region of Antioquia. Today, this city is an important hub for Colombia and this new operation will undoubtedly allow more customers to connect with Central America, and more Salvadorans to visit Medellin,” said David Aleman, Avianca’s director of sales for Colombia and South America.
