Frontier Airlines Requests Authorization to Fly Between San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Bogotá

The U.S. airline Frontier Airlines has submitted a request to the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority to operate a non-stop route between San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Bogotá.

According to the documentation provided, Frontier plans to operate this route twice a week. For this purpose, the airline will use Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. Additionally, the request includes operations under the third and fourth freedom of the air rights.

Frontier Airlines Announces Three New Routes for Spring

If the request is approved, Bogotá would become the airline’s first destination in South America and would enter into competition with Avianca, which is currently the only company operating the route.
