The Dominican airline Arajet celebrated its third anniversary this Monday by reaffirming its commitment to establishing the Dominican Republic as the new hub of the American continent, connecting North, Central, and South America with the Caribbean through Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.

The announcement was made by Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder, during a meeting with media directors, where he projected that 2025 will conclude with over 1.5 million passengers carried, of which 200 thousand will be connecting travelers.

Sustained Growth and Fleet Expansion

Manuel Luna, Chief Communications and External Affairs Officer, highlighted the arrival of the 12th aircraft, named “La Caleta,” and confirmed that the 13th will arrive before the end of the year. Furthermore, six more will be added in 2026, bringing the total fleet to 19 aircraft.

Luna underscored the regional impact: “If we look at destinations like Mexico, we have grown by almost 200% since our launch. The same applies to Guatemala, Costa Rica, and we are now seeing the phenomenon in Argentina, where we will end the year with 20 weekly flights.”

New Destinations and Enhanced Connectivity

As part of its expansion plan, Arajet will focus efforts on increasing frequencies on routes with high seasonal demand and optimizing connection times between strategic markets. Among the announced destinations are:

  • Orlando, Chicago, and Boston (service starting between October and November).
  • Córdoba, Argentina (starting December).

The strategy aims to strengthen the position of Santo Domingo and Punta Cana as key platforms for tourism, business, and family reunification across the entire region.

Commitment to Dominican Republic

In the words of Pacheco Méndez: “We were born with a clear mission: to democratize the skies of the Americas so that more people can travel, more often and better connected, with a simple, safe, and punctual experience.”

Currently, Arajet employs over 700 direct staff, with more than 50% of managerial positions held by women. The airline also continues to invest in training local pilots and technicians, while supporting sports, cultural, and culinary initiatives that project the Dominican Republic as a leading destination on the continent.

The Future of a Regional Hub

The company is working in alliance with authorities, airports, and industry partners to consolidate the Dominican Republic as the heart of air traffic in the hemisphere. For Pacheco Méndez, this anniversary marks “a new starting point to continue connecting dreams, opportunities, and destinations with Dominican pride.”
