Emirates Begins Global Network Restoration Following Airspace Reopening
Emirates announced this Friday that it expects to resume full network operations within the coming days. Following a week of disruptions caused by regional conflict, the leading international carrier is working to restore normalcy to its flight schedules, subject to airspace availability and operational requirements.
Progressive Recovery of International Connectivity
The Dubai-based airline has launched an accelerated process to restore its destination network. According to current operational plans, the company is expected to reach the following milestones by March 7:
- Operation of 106 round-trip flights.
- Coverage of 83 destinations, representing approximately 60% of its standard route network.
On Thursday, the carrier successfully moved nearly 30,000 passengers out of Dubai.

Deployment in Strategic Markets: UK, India, and the U.S.
Emirates is prioritizing capacity in its highest-demand markets to stabilize international passenger flow. The deployment is distributed as follows:
United Kingdom and India By this Saturday, the operator will have 11 daily flights active across five UK airports. Meanwhile, the Indian market will see a significant increase, scaling up to 22 daily services covering all nine of its destinations in the country by March 7.
United States Regarding transatlantic operations, the airline currently maintains active service to seven of its U.S. routes.
Operational Impact and Regional Context
The suspension of activities was a direct consequence of regional tensions. Retaliatory strikes by Iran forced the United Arab Emirates to temporarily close its airspace.
This closure resulted in the cancellation of thousands of flights and caused minor structural damage at the airline’s primary hub, Dubai International Airport (DXB).
In parallel, Etihad Airways, a direct regional competitor, also confirmed the resumption of its operations this Friday, joining the effort to normalize air traffic in the Middle East.
