easyJet has inaugurated a three-aircraft base in Marrakech, marking a significant milestone in its long-term partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO) and strengthening its European connectivity.
A Strategic Commitment to the Moroccan Market
The inauguration of the new base was attended by Kenton Jarvis, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer; Achraf Fayda, Director of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO); and Adel El Fakir, Director of the National Airports Office (ONDA). This opening is part of a strategic alliance signed in the fall of 2025 to bolster tourism in the region.
With this new infrastructure, the carrier expects to reach a record 4 million seats during the first year of operation. Furthermore, the base enables the creation of 100 direct jobs and thousands of indirect positions, consolidating the company as the second most important operator in Marrakech.
Route Network Expansion and Year-Round Connectivity
As part of this launch, the airline announced six new routes to Morocco for the upcoming winter season, bringing its total network in the country to 58 itineraries, 30 of which connect with Marrakech.

New Winter Routes (Now on Sale):
- Prague – Marrakech: Operating from October 25, with two weekly frequencies (Wednesdays and Sundays).
- Zurich – Marrakech: Starting October 28, 2026, with two flights per week (Wednesdays and Saturdays).
- Newcastle – Marrakech: Beginning November 3, 2026, with two weekly frequencies (Tuesdays and Saturdays).
Spring Connections:
The airline will soon put on sale routes between Nantes and Essaouira, as well as services from Bordeaux and Birmingham to Agadir.
Additionally, several existing routes will transition to year-round service. Services from Lille, Strasbourg, and Hamburg to Marrakech will now be available throughout the year. On the other hand, the new Geneva – Tangier connection will commence on March 30, 2026, with two weekly frequencies.
This launch coincides with the 20th anniversary of the airline’s operations in Morocco, a period during which it has transported 20 million passengers. Currently, easyJet serves five local airports (Marrakech, Agadir, Rabat, Essaouira, and Tangier) and positions itself as the largest carrier to Morocco from the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
“This is a milestone for our development in the region, providing more travel opportunities than ever before… while contributing to the local economy through tourism and the jobs we are creating,” highlighted Kenton Jarvis, CEO of easyJet.
