Air Premia has officially commenced its new scheduled service between Incheon International Airport and Washington D.C., solidifying its footprint on the U.S. East Coast. This launch represents a historic milestone, marking the first additional route to the U.S. capital operated by a Korean carrier in 31 years.
The addition of this destination allows the airline to connect key hubs across the United States, joining its current network in:
- Los Angeles
- San Francisco
- Honolulu
- New York
- Washington D.C.
Operational Service Details
The new route will operate with a frequency of four flights per week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight schedule has been structured to maximize connectivity between the two capitals:
- Seoul – Washington D.C.: Departure 10:00 – Arrival 10:50 (local time).
- Washington D.C. – Seoul: Departure 13:20 – Arrival 17:45 the following day.
This new offering not only increases seat capacity on transpacific services but also provides broader travel options in a market with stable demand from the diplomatic and business sectors.
In-Flight Experience: The “Wide Premium” Concept
To differentiate itself on long-haul routes, the airline is betting on its “Wide Premium” service concept, designed as a competitive alternative to traditional business classes. This model seeks to combine affordable fares with superior comfort, highlighting the following technical specifications:
- Personal Space: Seats feature a seat pitch ranging from 42 to 46 inches.
- Dimensions: A seat width of 20 inches.
- Entertainment: All seats are equipped with personal monitors and in-flight services focused on enhancing the experience during extended flight times.
Air Premia’s CEO, Yoo Myung-sub, emphasized the importance of this launch for the firm’s global growth: “The launch of the Washington D.C. service is a significant milestone that completes our East-West network in the U.S. We look forward to more travelers experiencing a new standard in long-distance travel through our Wide Premium service.”
With this operation, Air Premia strengthens its long-range capabilities and positions itself as a disruptive player in the Korean aviation market, offering greater flexibility on an air corridor that had not seen new local competitors in over three decades.
