Boeing Delivers 53 Jets in July, Down 11 From June
During the month of July, Boeing completed the delivery of 53 commercial aircraft. This figure represents an increase of five units compared to deliveries recorded in the same month last year, but reflects a 17% drop when compared to the 64 jets delivered in June.
With this volume, the US manufacturer trailed its European rival Airbus, which reported delivering 67 aircraft over the same period.
On a year-to-date basis through July, Boeing has delivered a total of 367 commercial aircraft to its global customers.
Delivery Breakdown by Model
Deliveries carried out during July were distributed across the company’s various programs as follows:
- Boeing 737 MAX: 39 units delivered (bringing year-to-date deliveries to 279).
- Boeing 787 Dreamliner: 10 units delivered (totaling 50 deliveries so far this year).
- Boeing 767: 3 units delivered.
- Boeing 777 Freighter: 1 unit delivered.
Order Book and Commercial Activity
On the commercial front, Boeing logged 38 gross new orders in July. After accounting for eight cancellations reported during the month, the manufacturer closed the period with a net total of 30 orders.
The majority of these contracts were announced during the Farnborough Airshow, an event that saw moderate commercial activity.
Breakdown of Orders Logged in July
- Boeing 787: 19 orders.
- Boeing 737 MAX: 18 orders.
Among the most significant deals associated with the event was an order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from Irish aircraft lessor SMBC Aviation Capital, the world’s second-largest lessor. However, this transaction was formally booked in June’s metrics under an unidentified customer.
Furthermore, according to data provided by the company, Boeing has tallied more than 130 orders through July for the Boeing 737-10 variant, the highest-capacity model in the MAX family.
Despite the month-over-month slowdown compared to June and the gap against Airbus’ deliveries, the year-to-date figures reflect sustained momentum across narrowbody (Boeing 737 MAX) and widebody (Boeing 787 Dreamliner) programs, which continue to serve as the pillars of the American manufacturer’s delivery and order pipeline.
