ANA Expands Regional Fleet with Additional Order for Eight Embraer E190-E2s
ANA Holdings and Brazilian manufacturer Embraer announced the signing of a firm contract for the purchase of eight E190-E2 aircraft. This agreement consolidates the aviation group’s prior decision announced on July 29, 2026.
The new order builds upon the original purchase contract for 15 firm orders for the E190-E2, which was announced in 2025. With this addition:
- ANA’s total firm orders for the E2 aircraft family rise to 23 units.
- ANA retains five additional options for E190-E2 acquisitions.
- Delivery of the first E2 aircraft for ANA is scheduled for 2028.
Operational Impact, Efficiency, and Regional Connectivity
The introduction of these small narrowbody aircraft aims to accelerate the development of a sustainable regional aviation network in Japan, while enhancing the passenger experience and cost efficiency.
Koji Shibata, President and Chief Executive Officer of ANA, highlighted that the transaction reflects confidence in Embraer’s technology to reduce both environmental impact and operating costs, alongside deepening the strategic partnership between both companies to elevate regional connectivity.
Meanwhile, Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, emphasized that the fuel efficiency and economics of the E190-E2 model will support route expansion across Japan with greater comfort and space for travelers.
With the initial delivery slated for 2028, ANA will proceed with operational planning to integrate the E190-E2 fleet, strengthening connectivity across the Japanese archipelago and driving down its environmental footprint.
