BermudAir Becomes Second Global Operator of Embraer E-Freighter
BermudAir has been confirmed as the world’s second operator of the Embraer E-Freighter cargo conversion program, marking the type’s inaugural deployment in the Americas. The carrier is set to add an E190F on lease from Regional One, representing a strategic push into the regional air cargo sector.
BermudAir’s current scheduled network connects ten destinations across the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada, utilizing an all-passenger fleet of two E175s and two E190s. Introducing the dedicated freighter variant allows the airline to leverage the versatility of the E-Jets family and diversify its revenue streams.

E190F Technical Specifications and Operating Economics
Embraer developed the E-Freighter program to fill the payload-range gap between large turboprops and traditional narrowbody freighters, offering an efficient replacement for aging, higher-emission cargo aircraft.
Key technical specifications and performance metrics of the converted regional jet include:
- Cargo Capacity: Combining the main deck and lower holds, the E190F offers over 100 m³ (3,531 cu ft) of cargo volume and a structural payload of up to 13.5 metric tons.
- Cost Efficiency: Delivers up to 30% lower operating costs compared to legacy narrowbody cargo conversions while providing comparable volume and range.
- Performance versus Turboprops: Delivers 35% higher volumetric capacity and more than triples the operating range of large freighter turboprops.
- Environmental Footprint: The E190F ranks as the quietest and most fuel-efficient dedicated freighter in its class.
By integrating the E190F into its fleet, BermudAir will bolster freight logistics to and from Bermuda and the wider Caribbean basin, establishing direct connections for express freight, e-commerce fulfillment, and critical supplies while cementing the Embraer freighter program’s presence in the Western Hemisphere.
