Condor to Suspend Dubai Flights from Berlin and Stuttgart
Condor has decided to cancel its daily operations to Dubai from Berlin and Stuttgart airports as part of its winter schedule. The decision comes in response to the challenging global macroeconomic environment and steep local operating costs affecting carriers in Germany.
To mitigate operational disruption for passengers:
- Affected customers will be notified in a timely manner.
- Rebooking options on alternative flights or full refunds will be offered, in strict compliance with the applicable conditions of carriage.
Location Costs and Market Conditions in Germany
From Condor’s perspective, the carrier supports open competition and international connectivity; however, it stresses that both require fair and level market conditions.
The airline highlighted that persistent, government-imposed location costs in Germany represent a significant burden, particularly weighing on domestic carriers.
Against this backdrop, Condor maintains that any potential expansion of traffic rights must strictly account for:
- Commercial and regulatory reciprocity.
- Competitive neutrality across the market.
- An assessment of the real impact on German carriers and the domestic economic value generated.
The German Federal Government has set a target to strengthen the country’s position as an aviation hub and business location. According to the carrier, implementing concrete relief on location costs is essential to achieve this objective.
Condor concluded that only through such relief measures will German airlines be able to continue investing, expanding operations, and safeguarding jobs nationwide.
