South American carrier LATAM Airlines Group has refuted media reports regarding the establishment of a domestic subsidiary in Venezuela, as reported by digital outlet El Aéreo. The airline group clarified that its current strategy in the market focuses exclusively on bolstering international air connectivity.
Addressing the speculation, the airline stated: “LATAM Airlines dismisses media rumors pointing to the potential launch of a subsidiary in Venezuela to operate domestic flights.”
Furthermore, the holding company emphasized that any operational updates or guidance concerning its member carriers will be communicated exclusively through official corporate channels.
Local Market Expectations Surrounding the LATAM Model
The unconfirmed prospect of the airline group’s domestic entry resonated strongly across public opinion and the passenger market in Venezuela. This anticipation is driven by key operational attributes that the domestic market has not fully experienced following years of operational constraints:
- Highly efficient operations within the commercial airline industry.
- A modern aircraft fleet.
For now, LATAM Airlines Group maintains its operational stance unchanged: there is no domestic subsidiary project underway, and its footprint in Venezuela will remain strictly confined to scheduled international services connecting through its primary hub network.
